My Voice, Augmentative & Alternative Communication software provides a unique opportunity for communication

The Techno M.A.G. Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) software, My Voice, was developed for the Nova as a tool for adults and children facing communication disabilities ranging from post stroke to autism, ALS or Cerebral Palsy. Substituting the primary means of communications, My Voice can be used around the clock, with schools and support institutions finding essential benefits in the solution. The system can host an unlimited number of communication boards, each with up to 32 images in any format. Currently the software works with up to 30 boards, enabling users to build a versatile communication file used for a wide range of intelligence capability.

Every image can be accompanied by sound and can open another communication board. Since the initial pilot in October 2007, with 100 Cerebral Palsy students, the program has successfully introduced partnering auditory communication boards to a population with severe communication challenges. Furthermore, for people with limited mobility, the Nova tablet PCs is easy to use and handle. No need of stylus or digital pen, just the use of the fingertip and all the possibilities are there.

Beyond this the Nova carries many key benefits for this community:

  • Enabling an unlimited length and number of recordings
  • Combining a wide range of symbols and photos
  • Passive and active touch screen
  • Durable and robust machine
  • Compact, easy to handle and carry
  • Large and clear LCD screen

"I’m very optimistic about the impact the Nova and My Voice can have on the lives of children with disabilities, particularly in communication, not only giving them a voice but giving them the opportunity of being heard and understood."
